FAQ

Committed to the occult sciences since 1992.

Our founder, Amy has been a trained practitioner for decades, and she had just left a toxic workplace. She then decided to work a spell to remove any blockages to a new job and to remove the baggage of the old one. She had no idea the magic that would unfold. She grabbed the ritual oil she made and a candle and decided to get down to work.  While she was working her intent into the candle the doorbell rang.  "That was quick," she joked.  It was the local postal worker delivering a package.  She came back into the kitchen where she had been working and was struck by the lemongrass oil she smelled.  "I wish I had some tea to drink while I do this working that would match my intent.  It would increase my intention, while my candle burns."  Then the lightbulb went off over her head.  She had been teaching magic for ten years and practicing for eighteen by that point.  She would take her old oil recipes and convert them into teas.  The oils without edible components would still have herbs and flowers that correspond to the original intent and could be enjoyable as tea when not actively working.

A week later, Amy was snowed in with her dear friend Eleanor (and the amazing graphic designer for Blackthorn’s Botanicals)  'Mad Tea Science-ing' and by the end of the day, the first fifteen blends were perfected.  A lifetime of blending her own teas for friends and family would help create the life she wanted.

My teas are a direct reflection of the traditional oils I’ve been making since the start of my training. It’s what pushed me to get a clinical aromatherapist training and influences my work every day. I wanted to turn my tea ritual into a magical practice.

Do you practice this?

Daily.

Do I have to be a witch to drink this?

Absolutely not.  Enjoy a good cup of tea, it's good for the soul?

Do you blend these teas yourself?

Yes, and as such, you can’t find them anywhere but through me.  Small business means each batch is blended by hand when you order it, for the freshest ingredients, and best value.

How long does shipping normally take?

Before the pandemic, the general answer was two weeks, now it's closer to a month due to shipping slow-downs.  All the factors depend on supplies being in stock, and this one woman show, to be in gear. You'll get an email with tracking information as soon as it ships.   If this is for a special event and you'd like to get it by a certain date, message me and let me know and I'll do my level best.

What does priority shipping mean?

Will I get my tea faster?

We only offer priority to cover insurance needs for both parties. It is the speed at which the United States Post office gets it from me to you.  There is no rush shipping charge available because all of my customers deserve my best effort. <3
